Our goal is always to help families keep their pets in their loving homes.
But, when there is no other choice ... we would like to help them match their pet with a perfect new family -- maybe yours!.
Some of the pets shown here require a re-homing fee. St. Augustine Humane Society acts as an adoption facilitator, and does not guarantee the pet will be a perfect fit. It is very important that you have clear communication with the pet's current owner about personality, medical health requirements, etc. before finalizing the adoption process, with an option for alternative arrangements that may be needed if the adoption doesn't work out as planned. All parties understand that SAHS will be held harmless.

We've been spayed and are up to date on all shots.
We had a rough start, being born into a feral cat colony. Most kittens are not as lucky as we are, because they are forced to live in the wild. Our kind hearted colony caregiver took us in and has socialized us to be very affectionate pet cats. It has been a lot of work getting us to trust people and we would love to have a real home. We are staying at the Humane Society for now, so stop in and visit us. We want to be part of a family so badly that we don't even mind going our separate ways, even though we've grown up together. I am a beautiful girl-- at over 75 lbs.
Because my owner has a small home without a fenced yard, I feel that I need a little more room to stretch. My owner loves me so much that she wants me to have the very best of circumstances, preferably with a fenced yard, so I can run and play. I am used to being indoors all the time, so it would be be nice to have access to a yard. I love everybody - men, women, children, though i've never been around other pets. I've lived with my owner since I was just a puppy, but she can no longer keep me. I am used to being pampered and live indoors only. I am so smart that I understand human speak very well, and I will keep you entertained with my friendly, playful nature. I haven't been neutered yet, but I am scheduled for my surgery, and would appreciate some assistance with those costs. (it is my re-homing fee) I like all people and other pets, but I'm not too sure about small children. Because I am tiny, I need gentle handling.
